Directors Note

It’s bizarre to direct a puppet playing your sister and an actor playing a version of you. But it's no less bizarre than living ten years without Lisa.
Grief is a love story.
I’m a professional storyteller.
SisterPlay was inevitable.
In theater we work in the ephemeral. Productions are shared experiences for a moment in time that will, if lucky, become memories.
In death, our loved ones become ephemeral. We grasp at memory wanting flesh and bone, only to be met with the echo of the shared experience in an all too brief moment in time.
Grief is a love story.
SisterPlay is an expression of the love I have for Lisa and the very real grief that accompanies me in the wake of her death.
